Peter and I stopped here for breakfast last week after an overnight stay in Lewes, DE. I had read great reviews on TripAdvisor where Surf Bagel is rated #2 of 77 restaurants in Lewes. I also checked Yelp and Urban Spoon and both sites echoed similar reviews.
I could tell as we pulled up that this place was going to live up to it's name. It was Wednesday morning (in March) and this place was hopping! As soon as we got inside, we were greeted by the sweetest cashier who took our order. The selection was huge, but we had seen the "we have scrapple" sign on the chalkboard outside, and being the scrapple fans that we are, both ordered the Scrapple, Egg, & Cheese on a plain bagel.
We grabbed a couple of Starbucks® Bottled Frappuccino® Coffees and a bottle of juice, paid for our food and found a seat. We were called in a matter of minutes and boy did the food live up to it's name.
We will definitely return to Surf Bagel and can't wait to try a few more of their specialties.
Their menu includes a variety of bagels (I just read about the coconut bagel-yum!), spreads, hot bagel sandwiches, wraps, subs, and salads.
